Bama E-mail Tools and Information
Using E-mail
- MyBama e-mail: It requires no setup and can be used from any Internet-connected computer. It is very easy to use, but does not have some of the more advanced features of other e-mail clients.
- Mail programs: You can check your Bama e-mail through a dedicated e-mail program like Outlook using either POP or IMAP.
- PINE: If you prefer a text-based e-mail client, you can use PINE.
Maintaining Your Account
- Did you forget your password? Students can use this online tool to retrieve their account information. Faculty and staff, as well as students who do not know their PINs, should bring their ACTion cards to the HelpDesk.
- Change your password: Use this tool if you know your password and want to change it.
- Check your disk usage and quota: If you run out of space on your account, you will not be able to send or receive e-mail.
- Set up automatic mail forwarding
- Set up a vacation mail response
- Filter e-mail from a specific e-mail address
- Change your Unix Shell: If you need to be able to FTP (to publish a Web site) or telnet, you must change your shell.
