Using myBama E-mail
If you normally read your mail from a PC lab, or from a computer which you share with many others, you will want to use myBama. MyBama's E-mail Center is a Web-based interface to your e-mail account on bama.ua.edu. You can access it from anywhere in the world using an Internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape. To access it, go to myBama.ua.edu, enter your bama account name and password where indicated, and click the Sign In button.
- The first screen you see is your Home tab. Click on the e-mail icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page. This will open your myBama E-mail Center.
- Here you can click on the Compose icon to create a new e-mail message.
- Click on a message in the Inbox window to display the message. Click the X in the upper right-hand corner (or upper left-hand corner depending on your browser) of your myBama E-mail Center to exit your e-mail.
- At the right of the INBOX, there is a dropdown box marked Open Folder. You can choose a different folder here by clicking on its name to view the contents of that folder in the same window. Using folders is a good way to save mail without having it crowd your INBOX.
- To access your e-mail's Help feature, press the Help icon at the top of the e-mail screen. It is usually marked with a question mark (?).
MyBama's E-mail Center is intuitive and easy to use, and most people don't need any instructions. However, if you do, the Help feature is very useful. If you can't find the answer to your question there, feel free to contact the HelpDesk either by phone (348-HELP) or e-mail (Help.Desk@ua.edu)
