Using the Address Book in Outlook Express
Open Outlook Express. To switch to the Address Book, press the Address Book button.
This screen displays all of the entries in your address book and allows you to search them. However, you can also search your personal address book from the "New Message" window, so this screen is mainly used to edit your address book.
To add someone to your personal address book, click the New Contact button. (If you want to create your own mailing group, click the New Group button.) You can then fill in the appropriate fields. For e-mail use, the most important fields are "First Name", "Last Name", "Email", and "Nickname", but some people find this a good place to keep track of phone numbers, addresses, and other contact information. If you know this person cannot receive HTML mail, check the Send E-Mail using plain text only box. When you are done with this entry, click OK.
To delete someone from your personal address book, highlight the entry and click the Delete button.
To modify an entry in your address book, highlight it in the list and click the Properties button.
To use your personal address book from the new message window, either click the Select Recipients button or type a nickname in the "To:" field.
As you use Outlook Express more, you will discover other address book shortcuts.
