Dialup Instructions for Macintosh System 8.x - 9.x

  1. Open Apple's Internet Setup Assistant
  2. Enter "UA Dialup" for the Configuration Name.
  3. Select your modem from the pop-up list. If you are using an external modem, select "modem" from the Port pop-up list.
  4. The phone number is 347-1800 (7-1800 from on campus, 205-347-1800 from long distance). Also enter your myBama account name and password.
  5. Click "No" on the next two screens
  6. Enter 130.160.4.114 for the Name Server.
  7. Enter your myBama e-mail address and password.
  8. Enter your myBama account name for E-mail Account and "bama.ua.edu" for the Mail Server.
  9. Enter "news.ua.edu" for News Server.
  10. Click "No" on the next screen.

Your Macintosh will now dial your UA Dialup connection whenever you open a network application, such as a Web browser.
