Terms of Faculty/Staff Home Use Provision of Microsoft Campus Agreement

  • Home use is only allowed for Microsoft Office.
  • Faculty and staff in participating departments may run one copy of the software, for school related activities, on either a laptop or a desktop that they own or lease.
  • Home use of this software for other activities (including use by other family members or use in conjunction with an outside business) would be in violation of the Microsoft Campus Agreement, University policy, and state law.
  • Faculty and staff must sign a copy of the Home Use Agreement in order to use the software at home.
  • The participating department must keep records of the number and identity of home use employees, and must make these records available for inspection if requested.
  • The participating department is responsible for distributing the software for home use.
  • Faculty and staff are responsible for installation of software on their home equipment. The agreement does not include technical support.
  • A faculty or staff member who leaves University employment during the term of this agreement must immediately cease home use and remove the licensed software from the home computer.
  • If the University elects not to renew the agreement, faculty and staff using the software under the home use clause must remove the software from the home computer or obtain another licensed copy of the software.
  • Export restrictions apply.
