Decide if Outlook Today opens when Outlook opens. Uncheck this box and Outlook opens in the folder Inbox (the default folder set under Startup under Tools>Options on the Other tab—click on the Advanced Options button). If you don't want to set Outlook to open in Outlook Today, you can open this folder by clicking on the icon on the Advanced toolbar or on Mailbox at the top of your folder list.
Set which folders appear in Outlook Today. The number of new messages appears next to the folder. Click on a link to open that folder. You can use the Back button on the Advanced toolbar to return to Outlook Today.
Set the number of days to appear (from 1 to 7). The calendar section of Outlook Today provides a summary of all upcoming appointments, events, and other calendar items. By default, five days are displayed, starting with today. This can be changed using the "Show this number of days in my calendar" dropdown list. In Outlook Today, you can click on an appointment and it opens that form for editing.
Choose whether to display “All tasks” or “Today’s tasks” and how they are sorted, in Ascending or Descending order. Click on a link to open the task form for editing.
Select the display style for Outlook Today using the drop-down list of styles. A preview of each style is shown.
