Saving a Design Template

You can save the design from any PowerPoint presentation as a design template to reuse. When saving a PowerPoint presentation as a design template, you delete all the slides but the title slide and even delete the text and graphics (not background images), leaving only the objects on the Title Master and Slide Master.

Practice: Saving the Presentation as a Design Template

  1. In Slide Sorter View, press Ctrt+A to select all the slides, and then Ctrl-click Slide 1 to deselect it. All the slides except Slide 1 are selected (you should see a thick border around each of them).

  3. Press the Delete key to delete all the selected slides so that only Slide 1 remains.
  4. Return to Normal View and delete all the text (but not the placeholder text boxes) from the slide. This leaves only the title slide and its placeholders, but without any text as shown below. Only the design and Title Master graphics and placeholders remain on the slide.
